ADVENTURES ALOFT has been sharing the fun and excitement of hot air balloons with Central PA since 1983. Now their 20-foot Hot Air Balloon replica gives your school, service organization, church or vacation bible school the opportunity to learn about the thrill of balloons for a fraction of what it would cost to bring in a full size passenger balloon into your event!
HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES are a tranquil yet exciting adventure. You float along with little, or no awareness of movement. Sometimes we fly at tree top level - talking to folks on the ground. Other times we fly several thousand feet high for a panoramic view.

CUSTOM EVENTS FOR ANY SIZE GROUP

Our chief pilot, Kirby Kopp, is available to speak for Civic
Clubs, Boy/Girl Scouts, Schools, Christian Groups, Bible Schools, and
day camps.

Since we travel with the wind, our exact course and destination cannot be predicted. Our chase crew follows and meets us at our landing site and transports us back to our cars. We launch at many different locations in Lancaster County dependent upon the wind conditions of each day.
A gift certificate handbook allows you to make any gift giving occasion unique. By reservation, videos of your flight are available.

In 1783 the Montgolfier brothers started ballooning with the first flight in France. They also started the tradition to toast the occasion, whether it is a birthday, anniversary, engagement, graduation, or just a "fun day"!

 

Pricing

• $1.50 per person/student, with a minimum $150 for first event,
• Mileage fee is $.50 per mile round trip

Pilot History

Kirby Kopp, started working with hot air balloons in 1982. He earned his Lighter-than-Air Commercial Pilot rating while working at a balloon repair station in Jacksonville, Florida. When he finished rebuilding his first Hot Air Balloon, he returned home to Central Pennsylvania to start his company, Adventures Aloft, which has earned the reputation as the area’s premier Hot Air Balloon company while flying passengers over scenic Lancaster County. He currently has over 1500 hours as Pilot in Command and owns three hot air balloons.
His wife joined the team as balloon crew in 1988 and earned her Lighter-than-Air Private pilot’s license in 1991. They have five boys who also enjoy the sport of ballooning and the oldest already talks about becoming a balloon pilot!
